The training plan described is specifically tailored for individuals who meet the following criteria:

1. Individuals aiming to qualify for the Boston Marathon within the age range of 60-64 years.
2. Those who are looking to run strongly and potentially improve their marathon time.
3. Individuals who are willing to incorporate speed work into their training regimen.
4. Those who are capable of starting the training with a 10-mile long run.
5. Individuals who can complete a 30-mile distance in the first week of training.
6. Those who are open to following a structured plan that includes long runs, fartleks, tempo runs, track speed workouts, and designated recovery days.
7. Individuals who are prepared to cover a total weekly distance of 41 miles in the first week, with the longest single run being 21 miles.
8. Those committed to running at least 5 days per week.
9. Individuals with prior marathon running experience, having completed more than 3 marathons. 10. Individuals within the age range of 60-64 with a marathon qualifying time that is no more than 25 minutes slower than the Boston Marathon age qualification standard for that age group.
