- Must have qualified for the NYC marathon in the Age 60-64 category.

- Wants to integrate speed work into their training routine.
- Is capable of commencing training with an 11-mile long run.
- Should be able to run 30 miles in the first week of training.
- Plans to incorporate long runs, fartleks, tempo runs, track speed workouts, and recovery days into their training schedule.
- Aims for a total weekly mileage of 41 miles, with the longest single run being 21 miles.
- Commits to running 5 days per week.
- Should have prior experience in running marathons.
- Possesses several years of running experience and has completed more than 3 marathons.
- Their qualifying time for the NYC marathon in the Age 60-64 category should be no more than 25 minutes slower than the qualifying standard.
