Plan Description
Science-based and stripped back to allow optimal time to recover, firstly, remember this is strength training rehab. The goal is not to lift Spartan weights or run a marathon PB; the goal is to reacquire lost skill, strength and function with an emphasis on rest and recovery. It does this by fusing different training methods into a hybrid training programme that takes inspiration from:
* Ancient and modern sports rehabilitation practices
* Low-intensity steady state training
* Bodyweight and resistance band conditioning
* Simple multi-limb powerlifting movements.
Together, this wil help to redevelop loat and forgotten movement patterns and rebuild your body from the ground up!
The strength workouts themselves are biomechanically divided. The means 'push', 'pull' and 'lower body' movements are performed in different sessions which encourages lots of big, functional movements that use universal motor recruitment patterns to develop neurological efficiency. It's also inspired by the simplicity of a prowerlifting programme. This is because the Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift are considered the 'backbone' of many strength and conditioning routines and powerlifting is a time-efficient, safe, multi-limb strength training protocol to apply weight, stress and stimuli to the body's structures (bones, muscles, joints, ligaments or tendons) for them to adapt, improve and become more resilient.
