Plan Description
This training plan is for a beginner rider, someone who has taken a long time off the bike, or someone coming back from an injury who needs to take it slow. We really start from scratch and build slowly. Week days we start at 15 - 30 mins a few times a week and end with a "long" ride on Saturday or Sunday. As the weeks progress we build to 45 mins rides during the week with even longer weekend rides. This is a very slow, but safe start to build up to bigger events.
There is nothing fancy about this training plan. It is bare bones, straight to the point and will help you accomplish riding a 50 miler in 8 weeks, if you are diligent. Time is of the essence, so we skipped all the fluff and got right to the point with this plan.
