As an elite cyclist with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science degree and years of one-on-one coaching experience, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of athlete performance, bridging the gap between scientific theory and practical application. This informs my data-driven coaching approach, where I leverage my competitive background and expertise in exercise science to optimise performance and mitigate injury risk for cyclists of all levels and disciplines.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in evidence-based practice, emphasising specificity, individualisation, and data-driven analysis. Underpinned by core training principles — progressive overload (systematic manipulation of training load), supercompensation (strategic training and recovery management), and structured periodisation (macro, meso, and micro cycles).
I utilise techniques such as polarised training, threshold training, and optimised interval training protocols within a carefully periodised framework. This holistic approach considers all aspects of athlete development, from physiological conditioning to biomechanics, nutrition, and recovery, to maximise adaptation and prepare athletes for the specific demands of their target events.
