Plan Description
Hello Rock Star,
This is the perfect 10-week sprint distance plan for a beginner triathlete or someone just getting back into triathlon.
In this plan, you'll start with a three-week base building period with low-pressure, low-intensity workouts to set a strong foundation.
There are well earned rest weeks every third week.
Each week has two swims, three runs and three bikes. The volume builds along with your fitness as the weeks go on. There are pops of intensity to work on speed.
While all workouts have a purpose, there is flexibility in the plan to move workouts or skip if necessary.
The key workouts each week is the long bike and the long run. Those key workouts should not be missed.
Each session is designed to be easy to understand without any complicated jargon or instructions.
You will use "Rate of Perceived Exertion" (RPE) for pacing, no lengthy threshold testing or complicated zones to calculate and follow.
The swims are based on distance and the bike and runs are based on time.
The only equipment needed for this plan is a pool, bike and running shoes. A GPS watch with a heart rate monitor is helpful to track activities.
