This 36-week beginner training plan is built specifically to help you reach the start line strong—and cross the finish line with confidence. Whether you're new to triathlon or returning after time away, this program meets you where you are, with no prior experience or base fitness required.

The Western Massachusetts Half Distance Triathlon delivers a uniquely rewarding race experience:

✅ 1.2-mile swim in the fast-flowing Connecticut River — ranked the 4th fastest half distance triathlon swim in North America

🚴 56-mile bike ride through scenic New England countryside with smooth pavement and rolling hills

🏃 13.1-mile run weaving through historic Forest Park, with a final mile primed for a strong finish

🌤️ Average race day air temp: 70°F / 21°C — ideal for racing

🌊 Average swim temp: 67°F / 19°C — wetsuit legal
