Advanced 6-Month Training Plan for Serious Athletes

The Half Distance Triathlon Kraichgau isn't just a race—it's a rite of passage through Germany's breathtaking "land of 1000 hills." This course demands more than determination; it requires a smart, structured approach to training that prepares you for every climb, surge, and stride.

Begin with a 1.9 km swim in the crystal-clear waters of Hardtsee, averaging 73°F (23°C). Then take on 90 km of cycling through forests and vineyards, gaining over 1000 meters of elevation. Finish with a 21.1 km run through the revitalized Kurpark in Bad Schönborn, fueled by Kraichgau’s legendary crowd support and 72°F (22°C) race-day temps.

To meet the challenge, our 6-Month Advanced Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is engineered specifically for experienced athletes ready to elevate their performance. You’ll start at 9.5 hours per week, peaking at 14 hours—a progressive build that enhances stamina and maximizes race-day readiness.

This plan includes:

- Endurance Aerobic Mile Training to build your aerobic engine for the long haul.
