Plan Description

This 6-month Full Distance Triathlon training plan is built specifically for the iconic Busselton course—known for its calm ocean swim, fast coastal bike, and flat, mentally challenging marathon run.

⚠️ Prerequisite Training Required:
This plan is designed for intermediate-level triathletes. You should already have a solid aerobic base and be consistently training 8–10 hours per week. Athletes should be able to swim at least 1,500m continuously, bike for 2+ hours, and run for 60 minutes before beginning. This isn’t a couch-to-race plan—it’s built to elevate those who are already committed.

🌊 Swim-Ready for Busselton’s Waters:
The 3.8KM swim is a two-lap ocean course with a beach run in between. We prepare you with progressive open-water workouts, sighting drills, and cold-water adaptation to handle the 68°F (20°C) conditions confidently.

🚴‍♀️ Build Power for the Fast, Flat 180KM Ride:
The double-lap bike course along the coast and through Tuart Forest is built for speed. Our plan develops your steady-state power, endurance, and bike handling through tempo rides, zone 3 intervals, and targeted long rides.

🏃‍♂️ Race the 42.2KM Like a Pro:
Four laps along Geographe Bay and the lively Busselton Foreshore require mental grit and pacing precision. We’ve built in brick workouts, long progression runs, and race-specific pacing sessions to prepare you for the final leg.
