Who is this Plan for?
This plan is ideal for runners who have completed one or two half marathons and are ready for their next challenge. If you've finished a half marathon in under 2 hours, this 24-week plan can help you achieve a sub-4:00 marathon finish time.
Plan Highlights
The program begins with a four-week introductory period, starting at 3:00 hours of training in the first week. It features diverse workouts (including strides, tempo, marathon-pace, and endurance runs) structured in three-week cycles, allowing your body to progressively adapt and prepare for the marathon challenge. It also has post-race week (Week 25) with workouts for active recovery.
Training intensities are based on your Lactate Threshold Pace (setting in TrainingPeaks). Since the focus is on workout duration rather than distance, your actual mileage for particular workout may vary.
The plan includes Strength & Conditioning workouts with exercise videos. For optimal results and proper form, these sessions should be performed under the supervision of a qualified gym coach.
This plan is compatible with Garmin devices, allowing structured workouts to be automatically synced to your watch when you connect your TrainingPeaks and Garmin Connect accounts. Please verify your device compatibility on the Garmin/TrainingPeaks website before starting.
