Plan Description

This training plan is designed to be started 10 weeks prior to the start of the 2024 NICA training season on June 1, 2024.

Designed by White Pine Athletics Head Coach, Kyle McFarland- This plan will help you to build the power and endurance necessary to train with confidence during the NICA season. In an effort to better equip you for the demands of the coming training season, this plan utilizes power-based training targets. Athletes should have access to a smart trainer, or bike with power meter. If you don't have access to these tools, we do offer a Rating of Perceived Exertion model (RPE), which can be found here:

This plan is built for the athlete who hasn't spent a ton of time on the bike this off season, and needs a little jump start heading into the main season. This is a low volume plan, with 3-4 day per week on the bike. It also included some light strength, core, and mobility training to help created a well-rounded and balance athlete.
