I am passionate about sports and physical activity. I grew up a soccer player in Italy and have completed numerous Triathlons, from Sprint to Ironman.
I believe One on One coaching provides the best performance on race day.
Every athlete is different in their physiology, strengths, weaknesses and response to training.
As such, a tailored and personalized approach will provide the optimal results.
My approach is quantitative as I truly believe the saying "What gets measured gets Improved!"
I am a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, USA Cycling Level 2 Coach, Power Based Training Certified through USA Cycling, US Masters Swimming Level 2 Coach, USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach, Ironman Certified Coach, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Stryd Run with Power Level 2 certified and a Training Peaks Level 2 Certified Coach
My coaching and training approach is predicated on the belief that quantitatively driven training provides the most likely path to success. It is based on creating an unbiased and objective assessment of an athlete, their strengths and weaknesses measured against goals and objectives. Only then can a training plan truly be designed that will be both tailored to the athlete and focused on their goals.
The plan will then adapt to match the needs of the evolving athlete. This will insure progress and not stagnation.
Quantifying performance improvement or decline can be a great motivator for an athlete. It can provide validation that all the hard work is worth it. It can also force an athlete to face shortcomings in their approach to training or the coach in their training prescriptions.
Nothing can replace the knowledge, experience and insight of a good coach, but a good coach can achieve extraordinary success if he or she not only has access to good data but can apply it to the individual athlete. This will result in more efficient and effective training, avoiding the trial and error shotgun approach that can lead to plateaus or worse to injury.
