Andrew's passion for competitive endurance sports began with his first triathlon in 1986. Since then, training and racing has become an obsession resulting in many podium performances. In 1997, Andrew expanded his professional horizons from competitive athlete to full-time coach and certified personal trainer. With 20+ years of competitive triathlon training, racing and multi-sport coaching experience, Andrew has a unique ability to bring out the best in his athletes, no matter where they begin.
Endurance athletes often train too much and many are always tired. They become a “slave” to the training log and more concerned about quantity versus quality. Andrew's training approach embraces “Less is Better” and he stresses quality and specificity of exercise over duration. His challenging and effective training programs will eliminate the junk miles, allow you to train fewer hours, and help keep you mentally fresh and motivated. You will be able to increase your speed and race performance while minimizing burnout and risk of injury.
Andrew’s 23 year coaching career has netted many successes with his athletes, from individual personal bests to World Championship podium wins. He personally continues to compete in triathlon and endurance sports at a high level having netting 2 silver medals at both World Age-Group Championships in Triathlon & Duathlon in 2014, and in 2018 placed 10th Overall at the Whistler Gran Fondo
Andrew is a certified NCCP Level 2 Triathlon Coach as well as BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer
